Tired of long tutorials? With ScanThisWine, you fill one form and we do the rest. You’ll get a compliant, multilingual QR e‑label with automatic nutrition and no tracking—plus a QR code (SVG/PNG) you can drop straight into your label artwork.
Quick Start (3 steps)
1) Fill the form
- Details: Name, Vintage, Alcohol %, optional Variety/Vineyard/Image.
- Ingredients: select from grouped lists (e.g., Preservatives, Stabilisers, Acidity regulators). Allergens auto‑bold. Optional Tirage/Expedition liqueur + Packaging gases.
- Nutrition: click Automatic Calculator (we compute per 100 ml values).
- Recycling: add items if you want; mandatory when selling in Italy.
2) Save → get your assets We create your product‑specific e‑label page (ingredients + nutrition, all EU languages, no cookies) and provide your QR code as SVG/PNG plus a short URL.
3) Add to artwork & print Place the QR with caption Ingredients & nutrition. Add to the bottle:
Contains sulfites • E 322 kJ / 77 kcal per 100 ml
That’s it.
What we handle automatically
- Automatic nutrition per 100 ml from ABV/sugar (kJ first, then kcal).
- Automatic translations for all EU languages.
- One QR for all bottles & markets (language adapts to reader).
- Compliance‑only page (no marketing, no tracking). Use a separate QR for campaigns.
- Clean formatting (ingredients line, allergen emphasis, nutrition table) across languages.
Local variations: recycling info by country
Compliance for ingredients/nutrition is the same EU‑wide. Packaging/recycling labelling can vary by country. Our Recycling section is optional.
- Italy — Add recycling info (material codes & disposal guidance). Required when selling in Italy.
- Spain — Sorting/marking rules apply to household packaging; new marks for re‑usable/DRS apply from 2025. We recommend filling Recycling when selling in Spain.
- France — Glass beverage bottles are exempt from the Info‑tri/Triman sorting label; adding recycling info is optional for wine bottles.
- Portugal — New packaging labelling obligations begin 2025 (material ID and, where needed, disposal info). Recommended to fill Recycling when selling in Portugal.
- Germany & most other EU markets — No consumer‑facing recycling mark specifically required on wine bottles; EPR registration/reporting still applies. Recycling section is optional.
If in doubt, simply tick Recycling and select the container(s). We format symbols/text appropriately for the market.
Heads‑up (harmonization coming): the EU’s Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) will introduce a single EU‑wide set of recycling/sorting icons in the next few years. As those specs roll out, we’ll update ScanThisWine to generate the harmonised label automatically. Until then, follow national rules — and note that Italy requires recycling info today.
2‑minute artwork checklist
- Size/contrast good for 30–40 cm scan distance; dark on light; quiet zone.
- Back‑label placement; avoid seams/curves and foil glare.
- Caption Ingredients & nutrition below the QR.
- Scan‑test cold/warm bottles in retail lighting.
FAQs
Can I add stories or shop links? Not on the compliance page. Keep those on a separate marketing QR.
Do I need GS1 Digital Link? Optional; classic QR is compliant. Use GS1 DL only if a retailer requests it.
How many languages should I enable? We supply all EU languages by default. Use the official language(s) of each market; many wineries enable several.
